For someone who loves to watch movies and be outdoors, open air cinema is a great place to spend the night. In the Upstate, open-air cinema is one of the highlights every summer. From classic movies to sci-fi or thriller movies, you are guaranteed to a great movie night – for free. This summer, add watching outdoor movies to your list of things to do as a family in Greenville.
You only have to grab your favorite snacks and a blanket or two and spend a wonderful evening with your family and friends to one of the outdoor cinemas around Greenville. Here are great places where you can catch up a movie under the stars.
Fidelity Moonlight Movies
Location: Falls Park, 601 S. Main Street, Greenville
Schedule: Wednesdays in May and September, 8pm
Summer outdoor movie showings are back this year at the Falls Park. Every Wednesday this May and September, Fidelity Moonlight Movies will show some of your favorite classic movies on the big screen. Bring your lawn chair and get comfortable. Picnics are also welcome. There will be food trucks too and you can drink alcohol as long as you purchase the $1 wristband. You can bring anyone but you have to leave your pets at home.

2015 City of Greer Moonlight Movies
Location: Greer City Park Amphitheater, 301 E Poinsett St, Greer
Schedule: Thursdays in June and July
Bring a picnic and enjoy an outdoor movie on a Thursday night. The City of Greer Moonlight Movies returns this summer to a give Greer families some free entertainment.

Come early so you can also enjoy the pre-show activities including inflatable playgrounds, dancing, and fun filled games with prizes. Snack and drinks are available for purchase. Teens under 16 and children must be accompanied by adult.

Movies In the Park
Location: Charter Spectrum Amphitheater at Heritage Park, 861 SE Main St, Simpsonville
Schedule: June 18, July 16 and August 13
Bring your family down to Heritage Park and enjoy family friendly movies under the stars. Bring chairs, rugs, bean bags and cushions to sit on. Enjoy the cinema al fresco experience.

Summer Movies at the Hall
Location: Slater Hall, 5 Whitney St. Slater
Schedule: June 5 and August 15, 8:30 pm
Bring your lawn chair as this year will be another great night. Find the most comfortable spot on the front lawn and in case it rains, you can still get comfortable inside the hall. Easley Movies on the Market 2015
Location: Old Market Amphitheater, Old Market Square Shopping Center, Easley
Schedule: August 29, Saturdays of September and Oct 3, 7 pm
A great way to cure your busy week hangover is to enjoy Easley Movies on the Market’s free outdoor movie. Screening kicks off every Saturday starting August 29. Movie titles to be announced.
Drive-In Movies at Shops at Geenridge
Location: 1125 Woodruff Rd, Greenville
Schedule: August and October, TBA
You can park and enjoy the movie from your car, or you can bring your own lawn chairs to watch movies at Shops at Greenridge. Show times begin at dusk (between 7:30pm and 8:00pm). Check out their website for the latest update.
