Chautauqua History Alive Festival – American Adventures FREE

Chautauqua keeps the history alive with its ten-day – two-weekend festival of non-stop live history and fun for the whole family. Live shows and other events performed by nationally acclaimed historical interpreters. From Thomas Edison to Amelia Earhart, these living history performances provide a passport through time for student and adult audiences. And it’s all FREE. A different show outdoors each night and more indoors during the day.
Freedom Blast FREE
When: Jun 25
Where: Greer City Park
One of Greer’s largest festivals, Freedom Blast, takes place 4th Saturday of June this year. This family friendly event pays tribute to America’s independence. There will be live music, food, inflatables, and activities and crafts for kids. Spectating the events will also enjoy watching one of the largest fireworks displays in South Carolina and displays by the S.C. Army National Guard, Disabled American Veterans, and many other organizations.
Salsa Under the Stars FREE
When: Jun 11
Where: Graham Plaza at the Peace Center
Greenville is lucky enough to have somewhere to go out dancing Salsa this summer. If you love Latin music and dance come to downtown Greenville and dance under the stars. There’s live Latin band and dancing on the corner of Main Street and Broad Street in front of the Peace Center fountains. Guest bands include Marcel Portilla and Willie ZiaVino. This event attracts people of all ages and free for all.
The Explorers Club Scavenger Hunt FREE

Where: Downtown Greenville on Main Street
Scavenger hunts are a very popular game for kids, but this game is not limited to kids. If you are a fan of this game come and register. Lots of freebies await participants. Hunters can sign up individually or join a team of 2. Armed with a smartphone, sharp skill, energy, and team spirit; race around downtown Greenville searching for clues to the finish line. It’s going to be a whole lot of fun!
22nd Annual Upstate Shakespeare Festival: As You Like It FREE!
When: May 26 – Jun 19
Where: Falls Park on the Reedy
As You Like It – a pastoral comedy by William Shakespeare comes to life on an outdoor stage this month, thanks to Upstate Shakespeare Festival Ensemble, you’ll get to enjoy this classic for free. The show is running through late summer with another Shakespeare classic – Julius Caesar. Show begins 7 pm Thurs thru Sunday each week.
