The school was established in 1995 and was named for the 300 year old oak tree that is located in front of the school. The school is one of the top rated schools in Greenville County and has received several awards of excellence in the past years. It has a GreatSchools rating of 10. There are approximately 980 enrolled students in the primary levels, providing services for grade levels KG-5.
