Foodie Destination of the Week

The restaurant scene in Greenville has exploded off the past decade with new restaurants springing up here and there. Downtown Greenville alone has brought an array of tasty cuisines to pick from which makes it a great place for anyone who wants to try different culinary experiences. This week, we’ll highlight one of the newest additions to Greenville’s gastronomic scene.

The Trappe Door

Like beer? Good, then you’re in the right place. Ask around Greenville what everyone’s favorite bar and restaurant is and you’ll likely get at least a handful touting the greatness of The Trappe Door. It is known for mouth watering dishes and its grand selection of beers which is a must visit for beer lovers. The Trappe Door has 14 brews on tap and a selective menu of cocktails. The food menu lists mouth watering appetizers, entrees, soups and salad, and dessert.  Eating at The Trappe Door is an experience, the food, the drinks, the excellent service and the atmosphere will remind you like you’re in a rustic beer cellar in Belgium.  Don’t think twice, stop here if you haven’t yet! A word of advice, make a reservation if you plan to eat during the peak eating hours, unless you wouldn’t mind waiting, this place is high demand.

Did you know?

The Swamp Rabbit was a former railroad that was originally built to connect Greenville to other major cities outside of South Carolina. As we all know, this plan didn’t materialize and the railroad was abandoned until the city of Greenville purchased it from the company who owned it. Planning for a multi-use trail began in 2005 and took another 5 years before it officially opened in 2010.

Though the Swamp Rabbit doesn’t link Greenville to out-of-state cities as it had originally planned, it does connect Greenville’s own communities to one another. The master plan for the greenway system will incorporate these cities: Greenville, Travelers Rest, Simpsonville, Mauldin, Fountain Inn and Greer.  Currently, the Swamp Rabbit Trail stretches a total of 19.9 miles, the current trail begins at Greenville Technical College, crosses the city of Greenville, proceeds through Falls Park and Furman University, and ends about a mile north of Travelers Rest. Since its opening, Swamp Rabbit has boosted the County’s tourism and economy, attracting more than half a million people who used the trail for cycling, walking, skating, and running — according to a 2014 study. It is considered one of Greenville’s unique attractions.

What Is Pre-approval And Why Do You Need It?

In today’s competitive market, before you go house hunting, it is always better to be ‘armed.’ House hunting before getting pre-approved for a loan is like riding a car without wheels. How much money you can spend on a home, how much loan you’ll be able to obtain? You should be able to have answers to these questions before you start house hunting. Getting pre-approval is a sure way to know that.:…

What Our Clients Are Saying…

"My husband and I met with Michael in mid-December, our house went on the market January 16th and was under contract January 19th. Michael and his team are amazing at what they do and did everything could to help us. We were out of our old house and in to the new one within a month of our house going under contract. I would highly recommend using the J. Michael Manley team for buying and/or selling. They made the hassle or buying and selling so easy and everything was very smooth."
