AARP, an organization for people age 50 and over, has recently announced Greenville as one of the Best Places to Retire in their lifestyle magazine October-November issue. Gabriel Redford, editor of AARP, cited Greenville’s mix of historical and modern architecture, great restaurants, entertainment, and sports scenes in her interview on NBC’s TODAY SHOW. We couldn’t agree more.
Greenville has long been an attractive destination for retirees. Spread across Greenville’s country side are beautiful hills, streams, and lakes. In addition, the low cost of living and diverse choice of neighborhoods and types of residences make Greenville SC a great place to retire.
Greenville has amazing local restaurants and has become a food haven. There are 80 restaurants alone in downtown Greenville and there are many things to do here for everyone. You can be in the mountains hiking, kayaking and biking within 45 minutes or two hours depending where you go. It has a lot of entertainment scenes and festivals going on all year round. There are ample health care options too.
In Greenville, retirees can have good quality of life even on a fixed-income budget.
