Six and Twenty is a whiskey and vodka liquor distillery located in Greenville, South Carolina. Six and Twenty Distillery gets its name from Six and Twenty Creek, which was named by a Choctaw maiden, Isaqueena, escaping Cherokees to warn the love of her life, an English trader stationed at a British outpost of a coming attack. Their original distillery rests on a piece of land where the maiden raced to save him.
Six & Twenty Distillery hit the scene in 2011 founded by David Raad — driven by their passion and love to create the best local spirits distilled from South Carolina farmland-grown corn and wheat. Since then, they have become one of South Carolina’s premier craft distilleries specializing in whiskeys, bourbons, and vodkas.
Their distillery was originally located in Powdersville, it was only in 2019 that they open to a new location in the Poe West development in The Village of West Greenville. This new location has allowed them to create an environment where people could sit down and enjoy their spirits at the same time see behind the scenes of the spirit making process.
The hometown liquor distiller offers its handmade hot selections — Old Money Whiskey, 5 Grain Bourbon, Carolina Cream, and Heirloom Rye Vodka. They also offer special spirits that are bottled and released periodically — Carolina Peach Cream, Avena Oat Whiskey, Heirloom Rye Whiskey, and Oak and Pearl Rum. People can buy them online, at their retail store, and in over 1,000 store locations in South Carolina and nearby states.
Six & Twenty also offers distillery tours every Saturdays at 12:00, 2:00 and 4:00 pm which guests can book online. For a $15 tour of the distillery, you can enjoy a cocktail, get a behind-the-scenes look at how liquors are made and an educational afternoon followed by a tasting of samples.
The nearly 60,000-square-feet disillery is also offering their space for many types of events including parties, weddings, meetings, and conferences. Their event space can accommodate up to 130 persons.
In addition to a cocktail lounge, distillery tours, retail, and event space, they offer a mixology class and virtual tastings. In mixology class, they give participants expert insight into the skill behind stunning hand-crafted cocktails. Whereas virtual tasting participants can enjoy an interactive experience from the comfort of their home as they receive a beautifully packaged tasting kit that includes everything they need to enjoy this unique event.
